Motorola has announced that the Original Moto 360 will not be receiving the latest Android Wear 2.0 which was released by Google at the Google I/O conference. The company started pushing a security update for the second generation Moto 360 and the update was not related to the latest Android Wear 2.0.
The Motorola support responded to an inquiry on when the original Moto 360 will be receiving the update which was released today on Twitter. The Motorola support misinterpreted the question and in turn revealed that the original Moto 360 will not receive the new update 2.0.
Hey @Moto_Support, when's the Moto 360 v1 getting the new update which was released today?— ️ (@timo_capa) June 10, 2016
Well, the latest Android Wear 2.0 provides a revamped UI, standalone apps, handwriting recognition and automatic fitness tracking to the device. The company has promised that the device will receive the security patches at the right time in order to stay updated. With the revelation made by the support team, the original Moto 360 users have lost the hope of tasting the new features of Android Wear 2.0.
The reason behind this is still unknown, and it is hard for the Moto 360 users that the company will not be providing major Android updates to the smartwatch before it completed 2 years in the market. This is, in fact, a great drawback that the company is unable to provide the necessary updates to one of the best smartwatches in the market.
