Asus is a Taiwanese brand which has made a name for itself by releasing really good smartphones for relatively lower pricing. And like many other tech brands, it also makes tablets and wearables other than phones. It sells tablets under ZenPad series and now, a new unannounced ZenPad tablet has been spotted on FCC listing which also reveals some of the specifications.
It is a 9.7-inch size tablet with model number Asus ZenPad Z500M. The display has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and Tianma TM097QDSP panel. Under the hood, the tablet has a hexacore 2.1GHz MediaTek MT8176V chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front shooter along with support for Asus Z Stylus pen. The whole package is powered by a 5900mAh battery with an option to choose from 64GB and 128GB storage models.
While 9.7-inch display size is not new to the tablet industry, it is Asus' first attempt at making a 9.7-inch tablet which was started by Apple iPad. It will be interesting to see what different Asus has to offer when compared to already available 9.7-inch options.
