There has been a lot of discussions about the release of MIUI 8 recently. Well, the wait is over and now MIUI 8 China Developer ROM is available for download. The Developer ROM comes with a lot of changelogs and device support. This has been a result of the combined effort of developers, alpha and beta testers and the credit goes to them without any doubt. The community gives extended support to the users about manually flashing the custom ROM along with several documentations.
Supported Devices:
Xiaomi Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Redmi 1,Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3 MTK, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm.
Notes:
- Redmi 1, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi Note 3G and Redmi Note 4G will not support 'Second space' and 'Cloned apps' for now due to the limitations in the hardware of the devices that run MIUI 8 based on Android 4.4.
- The stable version of the MIUI 8 ROM will be made available on August this year.
- No more updates for Mi Max Alpha ROM will be available after upgrading to MIUI 6.6.16. You can do manual flashing by downloading the MIUI Developer ROM.
How to upgrade to MIUI 8:
- If you are on the latest MIUI China Developer ROM then you will automatically receive the MIUI 8 OTA update notifications on your phone. You can also check for the updates on the 'Updater' app.
- If you are using the older versions then you need to manually flash your device.
