Mediatek started investing into Automobiles and VR industry

Virtual Reality and Internet of Things aren’t the only two areas which are captivating many companies. There is one more field which we often forget due to these ongoing topics these days. Automobiles industry is as intriguing as the two most talked fields. Till now, only two the companies have beheld us – Apple and Google where the former one is hiding its plans, the latter is going open in talks and revealing much about its plans. Of course, there are many automobile companies but here we are talking about the infusion of technology with them.
Surprisingly, MediaTek, the well-known chipset providing company most of which for the smartphones is entering into the automobile industry. Some unknown sources suggest thatMediaTeK’s research and development teams have started working with European-based car vendors. Furthermore, MediaTek is also taking input from smartphone manufacturers and redeveloping the company’s chipsets so to make them compatible with the automotive electronics industry.
Further, the traces prove the involvement of MediaTek in automobile’s industry as it recently inked a collaborative deal with NavInfo to sell AutoChips, or Hefei, to the Chinese company as well as formed a strategic alliance, which will require MediaTek to invest $100 million.
Not only this, MediaTek is also spreading its roots in Virtual Reality industry. It is reportedlyinvesting in the virtual reality in order to design suitable chipsets for the smartphones. Interestingly, their chipsets are going to support Google’s new virtual reality platform Daydream. MediaTek is taking big steps further after chipsets. We are curious to know more from the company in the field of IoT, VR, and Automobiles.
