Huawei launched 16-cores processor for servers

Huawei launched its HiSilicon chipsets Kirin 955 and 950 that achieved quite good responses. They are quite powerful and efficient adorning the latest smartphones like the recently launched P9. It should be noted that for the smartphones, Huawei used ARM’s stock architecture on its Kirin chips for smartphones. Huawei’s processors for smartphones have been till now limited to eight-core architecture only.
On the other hand, for the servers, Huawei has used a self-developed 64-bit processor Hi612a architecture, manufactured on TSMC’s 16nm process, with up to 16 cores on board and compatible with ARMv8-A instruction set. The development period of these processors for the servers is very complex, however, Huawei will stick to the ARM’s stock architecture because the development process is really short.
