More often juxtaposes the top smartphones of compact cameras. You can be sure that a good phone will make better pictures than the camera for 500 zł. But do handle better than the camera in the price of 1000 zł, or an advanced compact? It will check in our test.

By today's standards the camera darker than the f / 2.8 is a smartphone as a poor result. Huawei has two rear cameras on Focal f / 2.2. It is true that some models even offer f / 1.7, but the brightness Huawei'a and so it is very decent, especially if we take into account the fact that the size of a single pixel is 1.25 microns, which is more than eg. IPhone 6s but at the same time less than 10 HTC . In front of the camera focal ratio is f / 2.4, and thus also good.

As far as the number of megapixels, these get a 12 on the front and 8 on the back. The image resolution is so high, and their detail and overall quality – impressive (about which more in a moment). For now, I stay still at the lens. Huawei has used Leica optics, which informs us, even in the rear of the casing by a white strip with the inscription. Apparently, this is not purely a marketing ploy, because the quality of the images shows that the optics is at a high level. On the back we have 2 lenses, but they do not differ between each other focal lengths. In both cases, the range of vision of the lens is 27 mm based on the full frame, so as standard value. The second lens is used for shooting monochrome. Huawei knows that black and white is often present themselves better than the colorful, so offers us a camera that is intended only for those images. This solution makes the tonal range of black and white images is much better than if we used the effect of black and white.

Photography

System Application allows you to shoot in full manual, as well as to set only certain parameters – other adjusts the camera for us. It makes photographic opportunities Huawei'a P9 are really big. We can also personally set the white balance based on the Kelvin – just a pity that the minimum value is 2800K, which very often yellow light may not be enough. The upside is for a minimum of ISO, which is 50, so we can make better use of the clear lens.

But Huawei P9 is not only the possibility of full manual setting all values. It is also a large number of additional options, which many users to please. Let's start from the effects. These are quite a few and are created in an interesting, instagramowym style. Among the images you will find several examples in which were applied different effects offered by the camera. An interesting feature that will certainly find a bunch of fans, is the "beautification", especially useful during selfies. The camera in this function somewhat blurs the image, so that any imperfections are less visible.

But I most liked the function of taking pictures with a small depth of field. Who among us does not like plastic, nicely blurred background? When photographing using this feature, the camera tries to open the aperture wider, and additionally systematically blurs the background, mimicking the wider the aperture, so that gives us the effect of the use of światłosiły of f / 0.95. Of course, the solution is not ideal, because sometimes the image looks a bit unnatural, but all the effect is very interesting. The flash is a dual – despite the small size can give a powerful flash that works well doświetli plan. Slightly worse handles autofocus, which, if it is a little darker, can be confused. In good lighting conditions, it operates without reservations, and sharpness can be adjusted by touching the screen with your finger. In addition, we can use the tracking function, through which the focus will be set on a regular basis at selected by us moving object.

Picture quality

It's a big surprise that Huawei P9 does so nice pictures. Staff are full of details, but above all a great colourist pictures. The camera in automatic mode very well set the white balance, and the images are well saturated and present themselves well. High impact it has on the optics, but it is also important to the software. In any case, one thing is certain – the picture quality does not differ from the known to the compacts, so the smartphone there is nothing to be ashamed of.

 It should be added that thesmartphone allows you to save images in RAW format. This possibility gives most of the top smartphones, but the chronicler's duty to be about it mention. That's a big plus, if one is going to manipulate images in a graphics program.

Movie mode lags behind the photo. The smartphone offers us a quality Full HD and the speed of 60 frames per second – in smartphones is still not standard, so Huawei is to be commended. Despite this, the quality of movies (at least for me) leaves something to be desired. Firstly, there are problems with liquidity, and second detail of the material is far from ideal. The image is not as sharp as it should be, and in this respect, the phone performs worse than the compact mid-range.

There is no lack for options. Among them time-lapse videos and slow-motion. Modes very interesting, especially the compacts are rare. Despite more options Movie mode leaves a slight disgust – not bad, but I'm still waiting for more.

Summary and evaluation

Disadvantages

There is a lack of stability, which could help in taking pictures and shooting blur-free movies. The movie mode definitely needs tuning – theoretically get Full HD, and yet the sharpness and clarity of films raises my reservations.

Advantages

It is primarily a nice, detailed images that, even without treatment look cool. A large number of creative filters and a great idea with the option of shooting imitating wider apertures.
