Lenovo-owned ZUK unveiled the ZUK Z2 earlier this week in its home country China. The smartphone is presently up for registration, and the company has now revealed that it has received over 6 million registrations and that too in just three days. This is actually not that surprising given that the device is priced at 1799 Yuan ($273) and it is one of the cheapest Snapdragon 820 powered smartphones available in the market right now.
There are still more days left for the pre-registrations to end, so there is a possibility that the total registrations will cross the 10 million mark.
The Lenovo ZUK Z2 will go on sale in China at 10:00 a.m. on June 7. It will be interesting to see if ZUK/Lenovo will have enough units in stock to prepare for the first flash sale.
Specs-wise, the phone is really impressive. Coming with a metal frame and glass body, it sports a 5.0-inch full HD display with 1,920x1,080p (414 ppi pixel density), measures 141.5x68.88x8.45 mm in dimension and weighs 149 grams. The smartphone is powered bySnapdragon 820 processor and comes with a special overclocking feature which increases the clock speed of the chipset from 2.15GHz up to 2.3GHz. It also features 4GB of RAM and64GB of internal storage. At the back, there will be a 13MP rear camera while up front, you get an 8MP shooter. The entire device is backed by massive battery measuring 3500mAh in capacity. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. In terms of connectivity, the device supports 4G-LTE, U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM (type: nano) slots, Bluetooth v4.1 BLE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/GLONASS, and USB Type-C v2.0. Finally there are two color options to choose from — white and black.
Lenovo sells products from its ZUK brand only in China and India and we will have to wait and see how many more registrations the phone gets before its first flash sale.
