Much more efficient light transmission, durability and low weight are the biggest advantages of the Chinese invention. The invention is based on graphene, which may soon revolutionize e-reading.
Guangzhou OED Technologies praised recently a new type of electronic paper. Based on the two-dimensional, alotropic variety of carbon – graphene – is to change the face of the global e-reading. Graphene is one of the strongest and lightest material in the world. It is a great conductor of heat and electricity, is characterized by a tensile strength of 130 GPa (steel and Kevlar, in comparison, is approx. 0.4 GPa). Already in the time of its discovery it prophesied that in the world of electronics may need him in huge demand. In many applications, the material has a chance to replace silicon.
This time, however, presented the paper. E-paper, the implementation can be made both in the book readers and smart watches. Among the specific benefits that we receive through the proposed Guangzhou OED Technologies, they exchanged a better light transmission performance, greater flexibility and durability. The cost of production is also projected to be lower. A availability? Here we do not have a specific date. The company estimates, however, that graphene displays will go into production in the next 12 months.
