He mentioned Google cardboard is working great for the company and now the company is all set to step up their VR headset game. A new platform Day Dream has been announced and it will be released in fall this year, most probably in the third quarter of the year.
As per Google’s announcement, devices to run Day Dream will not only have to feature high-quality displays but will also require latest high-end SoCs on board. To enjoy the VR high quality, the user needs to have a high-end flagship smartphone with HD display, high-end processor and last but not the least Android OS software on top of all. Google further mentions we can expect Daydream-compatible hardware devices in fall this year from other manufacturers including Samsung, HTC and much more. Google also mentions about the VR controller which will work in alliance with Daydream. we can expect Google will be sharing the design reference of their VR headset and the Daydream. So they can build compatible devices by this fall.
