One of the most eagerly awaited phones of the year is undoubtedly the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. And the lid on some of its secrets seems to be lifting. An anonymous image showing thealleged teaser for the phablet seems to confirm that smartphone giant is doing smart things and calling this year's the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
Bypassing the name Note 6 and going to Note 7, Samsung is looking to align the phone with its flagship Samsung Galaxy S7. If they had gone with Note 6, there is a chance that consumers might have jumped to conclusions that the phone had last year's technology. Moreover, with Apple coming out with its Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus this year, it could have been a major disadvantage for Samsung.
The teaser is actually a pun that reads "write on the edge of something great." It is widely assumed that this refers to the rumors that the Galaxy Note 7 will sport curved edges on both the front and back of the device. It also could reference new capabilities coming to the S-Pen.
It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will have a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED screen, carrying a 1440x2560 QHD resolution. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 823 SoC with a quad-core CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU. 6GB of RAM is on board, and the 12MP rear camera found on the Galaxy S7 is used on the handset. That camera comes with a f/1.7 aperture.
The phablet may be introduced as soon as next month with the launch taking place soon after that.
