NVIDIA CEO stated VR tech needs 20 years to be up to par

Virtual Reality is one of the most advanced technology these days and no doubt one of the hot tech every manufacturer is looking forward to announcing products compatible with VR tech. In I/O 2016 Google also an emphasis on VR tech and announces a new VR platform for developers.
At the moment, slightly costlier products like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR are available in the market which provides a very lush virtual reality environment. The VR environment sometimes disconnects user brains and body which makes them sick. As the tech is still new that’s why there are many issues users have to face to use it. The aforementioned Nausea is one of the issues users have to face after using VR tech.
During the annual Computex convention NVIDIA’s CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang took the stage during press conference and stated that according to him VR is still in its initial stage and won’t be up to par in less than upcoming 20 years.
One of the biggest issue according to him was the resolution in VR environment. He said no matter which system user use, they have to face these kind of problems. The reason behind this issue is that at the moment, no screen can squeeze pixel to such small display of smartphones. The VR headset can’t provide enough high pixels to make the VR content looks completely realistic. Which, he expects will get better with announcement of Smartphones with 4K screen resolution.
He further spoke about the issues users face after watching VR reality on their VR headsets. The VR content is not up to par to actually feel VR content as reality. Even though VR tech improved in past but still major VR system have these kinds of issues and they aren’t powered with enough resolution to make content realistic.
The environment shown in VR are also not detailed yet that’s why users sometimes have to face issues with reality. For example if a user is using the TriniusVR and playing the last two points of Crysis 3. The problem that everyone have to face is that it is not hard to back them that problem simply can’t be ignored.
Interestingly, the CEO of NVIDIA didn’t mentions any solution of these problem, initially everyone was expecting a solution from CEO as NVidia have expertise in graphics area. Somebody frankly asked him about either his company has plans to solve the issues.

He said “…we have hundreds of projects in the company… most of them get thrown away.”

This means NVIDIA is also internally testing to solve this issue but they yet to find of these problems. We can expect something ground breaking from NVidia in coming months, stay tuned for updates.
