Sony Xperia X: New smartphone line that replaces Z Series

Sony Xperia X: New smartphone line that replaces Z Series

This year at MWC Sony did not have a successor to their previous Z smartphone. What we got instead is a complete new line of smartphones that comes to replace the Z series. The new line is the Xperia X and it will hit the market with three new devices. The new devices are the Sony Xperia X, the Sony Xperia X Performance and the Sony Xperia XA. We got the chance to try them all out at MWC and here is everything you need about them.
More exciting news will be coming soon: http://hereatab.com/

Sony Xperia X – An almost flagship

Let’s start with the Sony Xperia X. It is a “middle of the road” offering with pretty good specs and a nice familiar design. The Xperia X will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 650 processor and 3GB of RAM, along with either 32 or 64GB of storage depending on the variant. There is also a very beautiful 5″ 1080p display.
In the camera department, Sony uses on of its Exmor RS 23MP sensors at the back and a 13MP at the front. We expect this device to do very well in photo quality. Furthermore, we find dual front facing speakers at the Sony Xperia X. The battery here is a 2620mAh which Sony claims it’ll offer the device a 2-day battery life. I’m not really sure that that will be the case but we’ll have to wait and see.

Sony Xperia X Performance – A “small” flagship

With smartphones getting bigger and bigger, it’s refreshing to see that many companies, like LG, Samsung and Sony of course are creating flagship devices with smaller screen. In the case of the X Performance the screen is the same as the X, it’s a 5″ 1080p panel. But the Sony X performance has three main characteristics that make it stand out from its sibling. Firstly, it has the Snapdragon 820 CPU, which is the best chip that Qualcomm currently offers. Secondly, it offers a slightly bigger battery at 2700mAh and lastly it is waterproof. Everything else is exactly like the Sony Xperia X.

Sony Xperia XA – The edge-to-edge “super mid-range”

Sony calls their XA a “super mid-range” smartphone. To tell you the truth I was not really that impressed by it in terms of performance. The Sony Xperia XA comes with a 5″ 720p display, the MediaTek Helio P10 processor and 2GB of RAM. The performance was not that great. But the Sony Xperia XA was extremely impressive in terms of design. The screen goes edge-to-edge and makes the phone look stunning! Weirdly, the cheapest of the three Sony Xperia X smartphones is the most beautiful.
So these are all the new Sony Xperia X smartphones. What do you think of these, did anyone chatch your attention? Let us knmow in the comments below.
