Samsung confirmed it has started rolling out the global Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge today. It was last month when Samsung released a beta version of Android 6.0 update for the both device users in the UK, and later the Korean version of the S6 and S6 Edge got the update as well. Although Samsung has announced in the past that other Galaxy devices compatible with Marshmallowwill soon follow suit. For upgradable models, Samsung is however going to make a seperate announcement, detailing OS updates and the release date timeframe for each markert scheduled.
The new Android 6.0 update for Galaxy S6 Edge adds enhanced screen that features for the curved-screen device. The Marshmallow update from Samsung pretty much concentrates on App Permissions, Web Experience, App Links and Power & Charging definitions.
Carrier-locked Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users may have to wait longer than users with international unlocked units. Android Marshmallow update brings new and improved features for the edge screen aside from user interface tweaks and overall improvements to the performance and stbility of the operating system. For instance, just after updating your S6 or S6 Edge to Android 6.0, users get an option to widen it to 550 pixels to view more content.
People edge now lets users arrange their favorite contacts in a single easy-toaccess area. Contact names now been displayed below the photographs for a unique-style experience. Shortcut to the Settings menu has also been added for easier navigation. Apps edge, a panel of the most popularly used apps has also been updated, now allow users add up to 10 apps instead of five. You can additionally add entire folder for maximum smartphone organization. There’s a new Tasks edge panel that provides shortcuts to oftenly used app features and tasks, such as creating an event in S Planner, setting an alarm or composing a text message etc.
