TCL 560 with iris scanner unlock launched in India and priced at INR 7,999

TCL, best known for its television sets, has entered the Indian mobile market with a smartphone – The TCL 560. The device will be available exclusively via Amazon India, starting Tuesday – July 5 at 12am and priced at INR 7,999.

The biggest selling point of this device is the Eye Verify technology, which the company assures can unlock the phone using the front camera of the device. “TLC 560 unlocks only after the eye verification of the user to prevent unauthorized access”, says the Vice President of TCL Corporation at the launch.


The TCL 560 sports a 5.5-inch IPS HD display with a resolution of 720x1280p. The powerhouse is a 1.1GHz quad-core SnapDragon 210 SoC(MSM8909) and runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It comes with a 2GB of RAM and a 16GB of internal storage. The device supports expandable storage via microSD card upto 32GB. The camera includes an 8-megapixel rear autofocus with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front one. The dual-SIM smartphone also supports 4G and VoLTE(Voice over LTE). The battery is a decent 2,500mAh. The device weighs around 156 grams.
