Zopo is planning on investing around 100 crore INR ($15 million) for the Indian manufacturing after 12 months of no updates from the company.
ADCOM is the business manager of Zopo in India and in the words of Managing Director Sanjeev Bhatia:
Zopo has identified place in Noida for setting up its manufacturing unit with production capacity of 2 lakh units per month. The company has plans to invest Rs 100 crore to start this plant by end of this year.
The managing director also announced that Zopo was planning on shipping 100k units per month to India. Other than India, the plant will be rendering Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan(via Dubai) and Nepal. Zopo is further expecting 25% of the Indian sales to come from handsets worth 10,000-15,000 INR ($150-225) and 60% from the handsets of the 7,000-10,000 ($105-150) price range.
