CHUWI VI10-32gb – Windows only now! Finally – Guide Coming
After much dicking around and basically being told it was impossible, I’ve managed to delete all partitions except ESP and put just Windows on this tablet (minus Android and recovery partition). Its a late model Chuwi VI10 that just using the double driver backups refused to work even if I dumped my own drivers with it always freezing on I2C drivers. Click the link below to see the image showing the system info and the partition layout now. I will make a rough guide how to do this if anyone is interested. I know I was beginning to lose hope in ever just having Windows 8.1 by itself. I saw many guides on how to use 2 USB keys and re-writing a script etc to put Windows back on or how to merge the partitions (however I think this way also expected/re-created the 10 or so Android Partitions). I started out imaging the whole drive with Macrium Reflect put on a USB key. Then booting into the shell in Macrium Reflect, cleaning the drive off with Diskpart then restoring just the ESP partition, I then made a 100mb partition then another partition using the rest, then using the install.wim off the recovery partition and deploying it with the DISM command onto the large partition. Lastly using bcdbot to make the whole thing bootable. Then after Windows finished its OEM install I used msconfig to remove the old Windows entry in the boot menu. This method used nothing that cost a thing, just Macrium Reflect Free and the WIM image you already have on your tablet. In the end your left with just a perfectly working clean install of Windows with all your drivers and no space taken up by Android or the recovery image.
