Xiaomi Redmi 3 is official with metal body & big battery
The Redmi models in Xiaomi’s lineup offer some of the most affordable smartphones which offer very good specs as well. With the Xiaomi Redmi 3 that was just announced though, the Chinese startup brings another great characteristic to the table, beautiful design and quality materials.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 – Specs
The one specification that stands out the most is definitely the battery which measures at an impressive 4100mAh, and we expect to give the device some great battery life results. In terms of CPU we find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 which is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD cards up to 128GB.
One area which can be very cost saving in a smartphone is usually the screen, and in this case it seems like we have one of the same for the Xiaomi Redmi 3, which has a 720p resolution panel with a diagonal of 5 inches. That is not particularly bad, considering the price. Furthermore, in the Xiaomi Redmi 3 we find a pretty good camera combination, with a 13MP shooter in the back and a 5MP selfie camera in the front. Finally, the device offers Dual SIM capabilities, and fast charging. The software tasked with running everything is MIUI v7.

But as we said earlier it is not only good specs at a good price this time around. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 ditches the plastic buildof its predecessors and switches to a metallic finish, which gives a more quality feel. The metal on the back also has a nice pattern to it which creates a unique look for the phone. The size is a little bigger than the second generation measuring in at139,3 x 69,6 mm but the Redmi 3 is thinner as it is now 8,5mm thick.
