Qualcomm is a chip stalwart that keeps giving good reasons to look out for its products powering big-name devices.
The upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor has been detailed and boasts 40 percent better graphics performance, support for cameras up to 28MP and faster 4G LTE connections, hinting at what near-future smartphones will be packing.
The Snapdragon 820 is a 64-bit, quad-core chip based on the Qualcomm Kryo architecture and backed up by Adreno 530 graphics, the Qualcomm Hexagon 680 digital signal processor and a Snapdragon X12 LTE.
It’s clocked at 2.2GHz and supports 4K Ultra HD video capture and playback.
It supports Quick Charge 3.0, as well as 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.0 and 2.0, and eMMC 5.1 storage.
While the Snapdragon 810 processor has suffered from problems with overheating, they should have that under control with this latest one, making it a powerhouse to look out for.
