These can be found used on ebay for half price. New, they come with replacement nibs for the pen and a warranty.
The Huion version of the pen display that allows you to draw directly on the screen runs $550 at 19", $800 for "21, this is a pretty amazing tablet at a budget price and is a good choice for indie animators and artists. The same size tablet in Wacom Cintiq is $1200 (13"), $2500 ("21). The Wacom is not budget but I had to mention them to contrast the price difference for professional tablets on the market.
The Huion 19" Pen Display is absolutely amazing and worth every penny. However if you have never used a pen tablet you might want to start with a really cheap one and move up to the $500 display later on. In my opinion Huion makes a perfect tablet for home studios and at half the price you can still afford to furnish the rest of the workspace without breaking the bank.
