Huawei consumer business group revenue totalled 12.2 billion, an increase of 30% YoY according to Huawei. 52% of the sales were from overseas.
Total shipment of Huawei smartphone was over 75 million units in 2014, up 45%. Huawei was ranked fifth in 2014 worldwide smartphone shipments.
Huawei benefited from 4G LTE pick up in China, as all Chinese telcos subsidized 4G handsets to encourage Chinese consumers to upgrade from 3G. Outside of China, large volumes of its lower-cost range, the Y series, fuelled growth across most regions.
In Q3 2014, Huawei ranked top in mainland China by smartphone shipments volume (14.8 million), followed by Xiaomi (13.5 million) and Lenovo (10.1 million). Xiaomi sold 57.36 million mobile phones in three years. Huawei target smartphone shipment volume in 2015 is 100 million according to Shao Yang, VP of Huawei Consumer BG.
Huawei smartphone Mate 7 were sold 2 million units in three months; P7 over 4 million in 6 months. Huawei has set up 630 brand stores globally and 30,000 in-store counters with a retial team of over 7,900 staff.
Total sales value of Huawei Glory series smartphones was $2.4 billion with total shipment of 20 million units in over 60 countries., comapred with $109 million in 2013 an increase of 20 times.
