Marques Brownlee has managed to score a Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet for review purposes and did a detailed analysis in the video below. He claims that this is in fact a very slim tablet, that reminds him of the Sharp Aquos Crystal phone.
The slate has the front facing camera at the bottom and a big speakers at the bottom front. Its bezels are pretty slim and this model manages to be thinner than the iPad Air 2, at 6 mm. It appears that the device has to be held with care and focused on portrait use, instead of landscape. The speaker on the chin area is a stereo one and it’s pretty loud.
The screen looks very crisp and the reviewer praises the metal build of the slate and the comfy buttons. The glass portion on the back houses those cool unique cameras and it’s a bit prone to smudges. The 8.4 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel OLED display is praised for looking beautiful and it’s a 16:9 screen, so videos are handled nicely.
Gaming looks really great in the video below, in spite of the strange grip on one side. Dell Venue 8 7000 runs an almost stock Android KitKat and this tablet also brings 3 special cameras at the back with Intel RealSense technology. They combine to take 8 MP photos, record depth info and Marques claims he didn’t use them that often… More info in the review below:
