The Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet made the news last year, when it was proved to be thinner than the iPad Air 2, that was supposed to be a record breaker of sorts. It also stood out through its special extra back cameras, able to measure depth and today we get a new feature on this device.
Dell Venue 8 7000 got a software update, that enables an image measurement tool, that was inactive in retail units till now. This means that the slate’s cameras and sensors can aid you in establishing just how tall an object is or what its area is. It can be useful in school, construction, DIY around the house and whatnot.
Basically, it can also replace a tape measurer, in a digital way. The tablet is also able to detect if the cameras are out of alignment and it can require you to take more pictures to adjust it properly. We’ll remind you the product is priced at $400 and comes with an 8 inch OLED display, Android 4.4.2, 2 GB of RAM and the Intel RealSense 3D technology.
