With OneCompute dock and Moto Mod, Moto Z turns in a desktop computer

The concept was displayed last week at Lenovo Tech World in the US. It needs a chip from Keyssa powering the Moto Mod to make this concept a reality. Once the entire system has been positioned, the smartphone is connected with the company’s own dock and has multiple ports. The connection between Moto Z and Moto Mods takes place thanks to 16 magnetic pins placed to the back of the device.
The dock has three components, HDMI jack, USB 2.0 ports as well as a power connector. So, this way, users can connect the dock and a monitor, a QWERTY keyboard and a mouse – the three ingredients of a desktop computer. And taking other things into consideration – like that of Continuum, Motorola’s product might not seem a faraway prospect.
Motorola had announced that, this summer, the Moto Mods will become available. And if things go as planned, OneCompute will also be ready to be available by that time.
Of course, Motorola did need to alter some things to Android platform so OneCompute can work seamlessly. However, you will find that the interface bear a resemblance big to the interface on Android tablet. The video below will give you a better idea of what the concept is and how it actually works.
