Hackintosh Project planned
Hi, I am looking at building and documenting a Hackintosh project inside a G5 case, yes it has been done before but mainly by the more hardcore users out there.
I hope to be able to build and get through all of the installation niggles and kext problems, all the time documenting the ongoing trials and tribulations so that you guys and girls can see what can be achieved.
Now comes the part where I ask for your help… I am looking to do the entire Hackintosh project build out of donated components (where possible), I want the build to show what can be done and achieved using parts that people have stripped out or upgraded.
I figure that many of you have swapped out CPU’s and GPU’s, Mobos etc in your quest for ever higher FPS in the latest games and probably left the old kit in a box in your room or loft gathering dust.
I am not asking for the latest and greatest components (although I would not say no, if you happen to run a company that could supply them), just stuff that is good enough to get some half decent performance from and is new enough to be supported by the hackintosh community.
If I receive more kit than I need to build, I plan to put together as many working machines from the parts as I can and donate them to charities.
So far I have an Apple MacPro G5 case waiting for the project… Lets see what we can put together
Thanks in advance for any assistance, be it with components or Hackintosh help should I get stuck lol, I think there will be a fair amount of head scratching and hours spent on this Hackintosh Project.
