Elephone P6000 Pro REVIEW

Elephone P6000 Pro : http://www.efox-shop.com/elephone-p60...

Is this upgraded version of the P6000 worth it or not ? In my opinion not really. there are better phones for a little bit more money or same ( ulefone paris , umi emax mini ).. the camera and buttons absolutely suck but the rest is okay.

Main specs Elephone P6000pro:
  • -5.0 inch LG LCD screen, 1280 * 720 pixels
  • -MTK6753 1.3 GHz 64 bit octa core
  • - Network: GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz, WCDMA 900 / 2100MHz, FDD-LTE B1 / B3 / B7 / B20, Supports 2G & 3G & 4G LTE Network
  • - 3GB of RAM + 16GB Rom
  • - 13 MP main camera + 2 MP front camera
  • -Android 5.1 system
  • -2700mAh battery
Pro´s :
  • cheap
  • good performance
  • big battery with real capacity.
  • easy to root, elephone forum with "custom roms"  - Buggy CM Build + some more roms.
  • good gps
  • wifi and 3G/4G ok.
  • 3GB RAM
con´s:
  • crappy body quality
  • buttons are not really responsible
  • camera is very blurry (lens was cleaned, no foil)
All in all, i would rather go with the ulefone paris or umi emax mini for around the same price. 1GB aditional ram is not worth it in my opinion if the rest sucks.

Stereo HD Bluetooth V4.0 Wireless Headphone Flymemo HV-600 Review

These are so comfortable & easy to use, my husband loves them even though I got these Stereo HD Bluetooth V4.0 Wireless Headphones for me. I relented though because I have another pair I love. I like the bigger buttons & the ease of using them, I also really liked the sound quality. The silicone band is comfortable & fits me with hair down or in a ponytail & fits my husbands bald(ing) head. The design means better fit of the ear buds & better control of how the sit. They pair easily to my laptop & my husbands LG cell phone. I do not think he has used them for anything other than music yet but he says they are nice, loud & clear. The strap itself is good quality & felxable. I got these in green because that is my favorite color, my husband seems to like them in spite of them being green lol.
As a buyer & a reviewer I value honest reviews, after all I use the Product reviews & Seller feedback to determine rather I want to buy or review an item or even work with a seller. I do use everything I review & I review with honesty sharing my experience & honest opinion. This item has been tested by me & I agreed to buy this this product at a discounted rate in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

Bad News About Asus ZenPad S 8.0 “Pro/Plus” Model, Good News About Insignia Flex Elite 7.85

Bad News About Asus ZenPad S 8.0 “Pro/Plus” Model, Good News About Insignia Flex Elite 7.85

The latest version of the B&H listing:
AsusZenPadS80ProBH03
This bit wasn’t in the original listing:
AsusZenPadS80ProBH03b
Online-only sales? Not good at all. And it’s not listed at Best Buy, either.
Meanwhile, anyone wondering about buying the Insignia Flex Elite 7.85 might be tempted by its current sale price:
InsigniaFlexElite20OffSale
I wonder if the stock of that will even last to the Thanksgiving Black Friday sale day? Or if it’d even be on sale then — in quantities people could actually buy without getting on an outside store line at 3AM!
For those who missed it in Comments a few days ago, G reported about this tablet:
Quite an improvement in usability/uptime(2-3hrs before) (4-22 after) with moderate usage. Android 5.0.2. Haven’t seen the push notification issue as others have. The update was definitely needed, and appreciated.
Hmmmm.

Sony CLIE Lifeboat

Sony CLIE Lifeboat

SonyCLIEPEGS320
Eight years later, I’m back to that CLIE. Miraculously, the battery not only can hold a charge, it seems to have lost none of its stamina.
Going back to a monochrome green 160 x 160 screen is a real trip.
But with Palm OS 3.x, I’m using X-Master and have my wonderful productivity-enhancing hacks back that Palm OS 5.x on the LifeDrive robbed me of.
I still haven’t transferred crucial data from the LifeDrive to the CLIE yet. No Memory Stick card reader/writer here! But the LifeDrive info is safely backed-up, so there’s that. For now.

Riva Audio announces Riva S portable Bluetooth speaker with phono port

Riva Audio has given a sneak preview of the upcoming little brother of its Turbo X speaker, the Riva S.

Launching in November, the Riva S features three full-range, custom-tuned 40mm ADX drivers and four custom dual-piston bass radiators, fed from a 30W amp.

That will all be put to good use thanks to its AptX audio technology that’ll support hi-res files and it uses Trillium audio processing to bulk out the sound without heavy-handed compression.

The battery life is a noteworthy 13 hours and it will keep on going in moderately choppy conditions thanks to its IPX4 water resistance rating.

Two models can be linked via the TrueWireless, it has a dual-mic system for calls and incorporates Capacitive Touch controls.

It also has a phono EQ mode for connecting record players and the big battery can also be used to charge devices.

The Riva S will launch first in the US and will cost $249.99.

Elephone P8000 and P6000 Pro will get Android 6.0 update

elephone android 6
Elephone will be rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for the Elephone P8000 and P6000 Pro, while the new P9000 range will ship with Android 6.0 out of the box.
There was a time in the past that Chinese smartphones were among the last to get the latest Android updates. Either the newest Android release would come up to 12 months late or in some cases not at all.
The past 12 months has seen a dramatic change brought around by a combination of Chinese phone companies wanting to update phones now and chip maker Mediatek being a lilttle more forthcoming with sources codes (at least to the manufacturers who use them).
So which Chinese phones will receive Android 6.0? Well we hope the majority of them will, but at least we know that some Elephone owners will be happy to hear they will receive Marshmallow (sometime in the future). Elephone have confirmed that the Elephone P8000 and P6000 Pro will definitely get Android 6, while other phones are under testing. New Elephone phones in the P9000 range will ship with Android 6.0 out of the box.

The VOYO V2 now comes with windows 10 preinstalled & is fully activated, it runs nice im really starting to like windows 10

The looks of the VOYO V2 are very smart indeed also the performance matches the looks with its snapper windows interface & modern feel about it.

The boot time on the v2 is very fast at around 15 seconds to complete AWESOME love the fast boot on this thing & 3 seconds to shut down.

The VOYO V2 is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F, the same chip found in the voyo v1, pipo x7,belink p1,Ainol ect ect.

I was expecting the SSD to be a micro SD card so i had to take it apart to see what iv got but no its a real SSD.A KingShare KH200064SSD, a 1.8 SATA II SSD with 64GB capacity (shows 58.2GB), a read speed of 150MB/s, and a write speed of 80MB/s according to specs iv seen

Internal photos

I would not recomend taking the voyo v2 apart as it has a glass top witch can be broken very easy so be warned.

The wifi antenna is not soldered its a propper connector

KingShare SSD when removed

The V2 has a metal body with a glass surface on top of it. Its quit slim with dimensions of 131 x 83 x 16 mm. It comes with a built-in 5000mAh Lithium battery & a 64GB SSD.

The v2 has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, RJ-45 (1000mbs) and MicroUSB port.

Its a real shame it only has one full sized USB port as most people will need at least two so this is a big draw back for me,

Also it has no venterlation holes (Big mistake) i would of thought they had learned from the over heating problems of the v1 but no seems not..It does get rather warm using wifi & especialy playing games saying that it plays games like ashphalt 8 & beach buggy racing with ease.

My v2 has been on now for the past 8 days constantly streaming video from my ip cam's & its only been shut down to do some windows updates ect.
During all my testing iv not suffered from any unexpected shut downs or lock ups. everything seems to be running perfect touch wood.

Also kodi runs very well indeed i think the windows tv box's are much better with kodi than any android, it just seems to run so well no stuttering that iv noticed

A cool app to control your v2 using your android phone, iphone or windows phone

http://www.unifiedremote.com/

Logitech c270 Webcam works

Tronsmart Mars G01 Gamepad works Well

Samsung M3 NON powered 1TB Hard drive works

Wifi the wifi on the v2 is nice and strong it found and connected to to my home network with no problem at all.
Same with the Bluetooth no problem sending & receiving files & photos from my phone & tablet.

Overall im very happy with the voyo v2 just wish it has another two full sized USB ports & some vents to help with the cooling.

It would make a perfect living room or bedroom tv box

Ora-X smartphone headphones look like an ‘80s vision of the future with flip-down augmented reality display

A new set of headphones is looking to muscle in on the grave of Google Glass and run with the concept that failed to fly first time around.

Optivent have designed Ora-X, a set of headphones that feature just one AR panel that can be folded back when not in use.

The Ora-X runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and is controlled via a touchpad on the right earcup.

This time around, audio-related apps are being touted as a good reason to own them, such as DJ tools for beatmatching, etc.

On the sound side, they feature 50mm drivers, while on the arm there is also a camera that allows the capture of POV videos.

Optivent has launched this on Indiegogo and hopes to raise $150,000 to get them to market.

If they make it, they will cost around $600 for the regular model, while the Luxe edition with dock will cost $700.

AnandTech Reviews Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 And Has Some Surprises

AnandTech Reviews Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 And Has Some Surprises

First, I was very surprised at how in test after test, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 “Pro/Plus” model performed so well, many times beating the S2.
77894Anandtech
This only increases my sense of frustration over not — yet? — being able to test that tablet.
Then there’s very bad news …
… about the display of the S2 8.0.
Before getting into our typical display analysis, I wanted to address a question that I’m sure some people have. A quick examination of a Tab S2 8.0’s subpixel arrangement confirms that the smaller model uses a PenTile subpixel arrangement, and there’s significant artifacting on the edges of icons and text, with the issue being very pronounced with thin weighted fonts. This is a big disappointment for users who prefer small tablets, and I would almost hesitate to recommend the smaller model for that reason alone because of how prevalent the issue is. Considering that the original Tab S 10.5 had a pixel density of 320ppi, the use of PenTile on the smaller but otherwise equally pixel dense Tab S2 8″ is either for better maintaining subpixel lifetimes, segmenting the cheaper Tab S2 8.0 from the larger and more expensive Tab S2 9.7, or some balance of both.
While the smaller model of the Tab S2 uses diamond PenTile, the Tab S2 9.7″ does use an RGB-like subpixel arrangement, and it’s essentially the same as the one used on the original Tab S 10.5. In practice there aren’t really any artifacts as a result of the subpixels not being lined up exactly like a conventional LCD display, and it looks every bit as sharp as the iPad Air 2 which is exactly what I had hoped for.
Boldfaced emphasis added by me.
So one of my readers was correct early on when he warned me the 8.0 had PenTile!
I’ve handled the S2 8.0 model a lot. Hardly ever used the S2 9.7, so I had nothing to compare it to.
Even so, this …
there’s significant artifacting on the edges of icons and text
… is not something I’ve personally noticed. It’s looked sharp to me.
The 8.0’s Retina resolution looked just like Retina on the iPad Mini 4 and the Insignia Flex Elite 7.85 and the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 “Basic” model, setting aside brightness and color contrast.
But these days I have to use reading glasses after a prior lifetime of perfect vision.
Still, all my tests of Google Books PDFs have left me with nothing to complain about in terms of text being sharp to read.
In all, it’s a mixed review for the S2 9.7, with several important detriments mainly based on the US$499 price — along with a shorter battery life and the lack of fast-charging. With its lower-capacity battery, the S2 8.0 will probably have an even shorter battery life.
The S2 9.7 hasn’t interested me because something that large I’d keep homebound. And if I’m going to have a homebound tablet, the best choice would be the iPad Pro with its larger screen for magazine-sized Google Books PDFs.
I’d sure like to try that Asus ZenPad S 8.0 “Pro/Plus” model. I know screen brightness isn’t as good as the S2 8.0 — and the camera is garbage in low light (see the sample at the AnandTech review) — but there might be points I’d wind up favoring over the S2 8.0.

The Story Behind “The Martian”

The Story Behind “The Martian”

I had no damn idea:
1) It was originally self-published
2) It was originally a serial
3) It was once free
The story unfolded as a serial over the course of several years. At the request of fans, Weir repackaged it in an e-reader version. Some readers struggled with the downloading process, so Weir then put it on sale at Amazon via Kindle Direct Publishing, charging the required minimum of 99 cents per copy. More people downloaded it at that price than had ever downloaded it for free. They gave it positive reviews.
Not a single damn person in my bookish Twitterstream ever mentioned it to me.
And you would think Amazon would have pimped the shit out of it. They fell down on this job!
