FTLab Geiger counter for smartphones: for when you feel the glow

You know the situation – you’re about to set off to the beach but there’s that niggling feeling, something’s not quite right… is it… excessive radiation?

Now, the answer will always be no, but thanks to the FTLabs Smart Geiger you can at least check using your smartphone.
Maybe you just want to get in the mood for Fallout 4, but either way this is a pretty cool device.

Developed by Korea’s FTLabs and distributed in Japan by our old favourites Thanko, this plug-in dongle is apparently the real deal and works with an app on the phone to give readings for Gamma Rays and X-Rays.

The unit weighs 6g and costs just ¥4,980 (~$42).
More exciting news will be coming soon: http://ahappydeal.info/
