Huawei takes the hard work in terms of copyright systems HiSilicon. Soon, the first smartphone with mid-range hit Kirin 660 – a worthy competitor for Snapdragonów 65x.
A few days ago, Huawei officially presented the original SoC HiSilicon Kirin 960, which in virtually all respects is able to effectively compete with the best systems on the market. It turns out that this is not the end of the performances Huawei in this field. According to the latest report, Huawei is working on a system HiSilicon Kirin 660, which has hit the mid-range smartphones. The processor unit is comprised of six cores, with two cores is the new Cortex-A73 clocked at 2.2 GHz, and four more are Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.8 GHz. Applied graphics chip will be Mali-G71, which also went to the flagship Kirin 960, but here it will be present in Option quad. There will be a modem LTE Cat. 9, and the whole will be made in 16nm process technology. If HiSilicon Kirin 660 will actually looked like leaks suggest it will be a worthy competitor not only for Snapdragonów 65x (including the Snapdragon 653), but even for the Kirin 950. It is true that powerful CPU cores will be only two, but highly clocked and what important modern; the same can be said of the layout that should not stand out from the Adreno 510 and Mali-T880MP4. If only Kirin 660 went to Huawei P10 Lite, whose price does not exceed PLN 1,500 (preferably 1,300 zlotys, ie. A starting price of Huawei P9 Lite), we would have a real sales hit. And even if not, and so I have to admit that the progress of Huawei in the field of copyright processors really make an impression on me. Source: GizmoChina
