YouTube Data API v2 dying, taking support for many products with it

YouTube Data API v2 dying, taking support for many products with it

What’s the one thing every owner of an older streaming device says? “Well, at least it has YouTube!”. Bad news, guys – some of your older devices are about to stop supporting the popular video streaming service!
Data API v2 was shut down yesterday, so don’t be surprised if you find out your Apple TV YouTube app doesn’t work, or your older iOS devices. That is right, Some not-so-old Apple devices are included in the list of devices still using v2. And because they are relatively old in today’s standards, you shouldn’t be hoping the manufacturer will update these apps.
Opinion: Regardless, developers can update the YouTube service is they choose to do so. All the details can be found at YouTube’s announcement.
