DEXMO VR – VR GLOVE THAT CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

VR controllers today are not something surprising. We Oculus Touch, or even gadgets sold with goggles HTC Vive. Now, thanks to Dexmo VR – VR new glove, may change a lot …

It started innocently – from crowdfundingowej collection on virtual reality glove Dexmo. The project, however, ultimately collapsed because of the inability to achieve its objectives by the creators of the project. Those, however, secretly continued further work on the equipment, and the effect of these works, we can today see live.

Company Dexta Robotics (responsible for the development of the glove) praised the recent progress on the VR glove. Dexmo is really an external exoskeleton, the aim of which is to replicate hand movements in virtual reality. The glove can not only move the individual movements of each of our fingers, but also register rotation and wrist flexion.

The device is additionally equipped with motors that put fingers resistance when hit the collision in the virtual world. This means roughly that if we take an object in virtual reality will not be able more to bite the hand as if holding something indeed. Apparently glove is able to emulate the texture and weight of a hand-held object. It sounds great, right? Currently glove uses a tracking position based SteamVR Lighthouse, but later it is planned to develop its own system of tracking. As for the specifications, Dexmo now weighs a little more than the iPhone 6 Plus (about 172g), and the battery should last for about 4 hours, and communication takes place wirelessly using modules NRF. The device should soon hit sale to the public. Source: VRhunters ; RoadtoVR .
