LetV has made it into the news not for making an interesting device

LetV has made it into the news not for making an interesting device, but for last week releasing a poster of Hitler giving the Nazi salute while wearing an armband marked with the Apple logo. CEO Jia Yueting said on Weibo that Apple is an “arrogant regime” that has embraced “tyranny.” After making an apology LetV has launched the Le Superphone which boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, undisclosed HD display but the guess is 5.5 inches with a 21-megapixel camera. An additional claim to fame is that it may be the first Android phone to use USB Type-C for charging and data transfer.
Now if the device alone doesn’t have you interested what does make this product worth following is that Letv has 400 million monthly users on its streaming-video service, the company has “the experience, the creativity, and the ambition to disrupt in this space,”. They are planning on shipping to the US and they are planning on targeting America’s Chinese speaking population.
Opinion – Reminds us a lot of the HTC One M7 and with outrageous marketing claims usually lead to disappointing products. Regardless, they have an interesting backstory and are planning on targeting the US, so I’d keep an eye on it strictly out of curiosity. I mean, who doesn’t love watching a train wreck?
